Arrived Istanbul

Today we took another ferry from Yalova to  Katal ( suburb of Istanbul ) which is on the Asian side of Istanbul.  We are booked into an absolutely lovely hotel at an absolutely lovely price.  The concierge is dressed better than I have ever been and he probably speaks better English as well.  We are going to stay here for next three nights.  That will give us our first break from riding and an opportunity to do some sightseeing.  Our plan is to spend two whole days sightseeing in Istanbul and I hope to take many photographs for the blog.

Chance also for me to do some laundry.  Sort out and re-arrange my luggage.

Jim is in rapture that our room has a bath - well calling it a bath does not do it justice - more of a small wading pool really.

Saturday we meet Clive (Englishman) and Jens (German) for the first time.  They have both done some big days in the saddle riding to get here.  Clive had a thirty four degree Celsius day in Bulgaria on top of the long ride.  Apparently we are going to have dinner somewhere yet to be decided.  They are staying on the European side of Istanbul ( more expensive over there ).

Signing off for at least twenty four hours - hope to be back with heaps of pics.
