Iran border and Mt. Ararat

Riding north from Van city we climbed up back into the mountains.  First we skirted the Lake which was bathed in sunlight.

The road wove it's way between mountains at 2,500 and 3,500 metres.

We stopped for lunch near Uzunyol which is metres from the Iran border.

Our curculios route required us to turn back to the north west at the E80 highway which gave us the chance to take a photograph of the Iran road sign and also Mt. Ararat in the distance.

Mount Ararat standing regal in the distance at 5165 metres - biblical text states that this is where Noah's ark came to rest.

Today we are having an early day - laundry and other mundane things.
