Maydos, Turkey

Along the Gallipoli peninsula the Turkish coast is littered with fortifications against invading forces.

The small towns are busy with getting on with daily life.  Although the country has Islam as it's primary religion most people are very secular.  Very few women wear headscarfs and most seem very keen to engage in a European lifestyle - with a very Turkish patriotic emphasis.

The Konak Ejder Hotel in Maydos, Eceabat is a family run business and we joined in for a birthday party.  Immaculately clean and well equipped rooms.  Thank you for a wonderful stay.
